“This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.” Elmer Davis. The number one reason many people enlist in the military is to serve their country. The reasons could be they come from a military family and want to continue the tradition set forth by their family members, or they feel a patriotic duty to serve their country. Although there are many more reasons why people join the military, the number one reason resonated with me. I am a third generation American. My father was a soldier in WWII, serving in Italy. Both my sister and I are veterans. We were raised to respect our flag and to live a life of service. I am proud of my military service. I know for others, it may be a time in their life they do not want to relive or share. Just know we are proud of your service.
